Sheriff seeks re-election

Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko announced Friday, Oct. 2, that he is seeking a second four-year term in 2010.

Elected in 2006, Bosenko initially was appointed to the county's top law enforcement office in August of 2006 to finish out the unexpired term of Sheriff Jim Pope, who retired in 2005.

"It an honor to serve the people of Shasta County," Bosenko stated in a release announcing formation of his re-election committee.

Acknowledging that the future holds many difficult challenges, the 31-year department veteran said, "I want to continue to address those challenges."
