South County Profile: Linda Lingo

LINDA LINGO

Linda Lingo was born in Colman, South Dakota. She moved to Cottonwood with her family 12 years ago to get away from the city.

She has been a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones for two years. Before becoming a financial advisor for the company, she worked from home doing small business consulting for her own company, Lingo Consulting.

Lingo works on helping people reach their financial goals, to live comfortably while in retirement, and to help set up college plans for kids. She is licenced to sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance, annuities and long term care insurance.

Lingo began her career working for Bank of America in San Bernidino as a corporate loan officer then went on to become a Certified Public Accountant for Ernst and Young in Riverside and finally a controller for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

Lingo graduated from Colman High School in South Dakota in 1973. She then continued on to get her Bachelor's Degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls South Dakota in Business and Political Science graduating in 1976. After moving to California, Lingo attended Cal. State San Bernadino earning her masters degree in Business Administration. She then received her degree as a Certified Public Accountant in 1988.

Lingo prides herself on being able "to do what is right for for my clients, and to have a business that is built with good morals, beliefs and values."

"I am very happy at Edward Jones. We have a wonderful support system from our headquarters in St. Louis," said Lingo. "Arlene and I have excellent clients and do the best we can for them and the customers that they refer to us. We pride ourselves in that."

Lingo would like to see her business continue to grow and to be able to give excellent service.

When Lingo has spare time, she enjoys gardening, working in the family vineyard and making wine.

My most irrational act: Riding behind my husband on his Harley.
