UP ON THE ROOF: Anderson City Councilwoman Melissa Hunt
Anderson City Councilwoman Melissa Hunt throws candy from the roof of Mary's Pizza Shack at the Factory Outlets in Anderson. Hunt spent 27 hours on the roof and raised more than $5,000 during her third annual fundraiser, "Melissa on the Roof." This year donations will benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a program being launched in Shasta County by Northern Valley Catholic Service. Hunt ascended to the roof at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, and came down at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, tired and sunburned, but still in good spirits. Joining Hunt briefly on the roof were various media celebrities and working journalists including Greg Barnette of the Record Searchlight.
