The experience and size of West Valley and Winters proved too much for the Anderson Cubs, who hosted the event.
In the three-way meet, West Valley came out on top in both the girls and boys team scores. The boys score was West Valley 181, Winters 108, and Anderson 38. The girls competition finished West Valley 170, Winters 116, and Anderson 38.
The top Cub finisher was sophomore Allison Lafayette, who had two fourth places, in the 200 IM and 100 free. Junior Savannah Hoy showed great improvement in all her races. For the Cub boys, senior first-year swimmer Jon Creech continued to show great improvement in the distance freestyle events.
For West Valley the girls' and boys' teams improved to 4-0 for the season.
For the Eagle girls Maddie Winton won the 100 free and the 200 free. Alex Szymanski won the 50 free, while Hannah Fish won the 100 breast and was second in the 200 I.M. Kim Court won the 500 free and Taylor Serna was second in the 100 fly. Kate Sjoberg was second in the 50 free, while Andrea Pangburn finished second in the 500 free.
For the Eagle boys Ryan Parke won the 200 free and the 100 back. Charlie McIntosh won the 200 I.M. and the 500 free. Matt Bohlin won the 100 fly, and was second in the 200 free. Steven Jordan was second in the 100 fly, while Brennon Shepard was second in the 100 free. Kurt Sjoberg won the 100 breast, and on Oct. 2, at the Norcal Invitational set the school record in 1:06.00.
