Happy Valley Pride: October 21, 2009

When I had my shoulder replacement done, the doctor who did the operation always had positive messages to hand out to his patients. I received this one and want to share it with you.

France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Algeria, Morocco, Romania, Kosovo, Panama, Serbia, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Czechoslovakia, Afghanistan, Denmark, Kuwait, Egypt, Montenegro, New Guinea, Indonesia, Thailand, Greece, Russia, Tunisia, Ukraine, Albania, Hungry, Belgium, Austria, Libya, South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iraq are all countries freed or rebuilt courtesy of the United States of America.

I know we are no saints, however the atmosphere in America seems to make us the bullies of the world. So in case you have forgotten or you are too young to know, I just want to remind you that we have done some good. And lest we forget, we are the first to respond when there is devastation in the world.

The Happy Valley Farm Trail met last night and we will be having a Web site. It will have our map and individual farms can put up pictures and information on their farm. You don't have a computer? We can still put you on the Web site; you can put your phone number so customers can get a hold of you, although we will still have maps to give out.

We are going to discontinue our monthly meetings at the Community Hall to meet at members' farms for work shops. Our first workshop will be at NuOlinda Olive Farm located at 17071 Olinda Rd. in Anderson. The workshop starts at noon on Saturday, Nov. 21 and as we get closer I will remind you. Gary Pepe, owner, makes his own olive oil.

Thought for the week: You say, "Nobody really loves me," God says, "I love you," John 3:1-6 and John 3:34-35. I love you too, and I am a believer in prayer so don't forget to pray for our nation and government leaders. Volunteer and recycle, it's good for the Earth.
