Irma J. Anstead

Irma J. Anstead, 86 of Anderson was born in Cottonwood, CA on March 24, 1923. She went home to be with her Lord on October 18, 2009 after a long illness.

Irma was a homemaker and loved her family. She loved spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of Neighborhood Church in Cottonwood and also attended Heritage Baptist in Anderson. She lived in Shasta County most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nancy Jones. Her husband Jack - sons Don and John, brothers Dee, Jim and Frank Jones, sisters Louise Allen and Nadean Phibbs.

Survivors are sons Bob (JoAnn) of Red Bluff, Mike of Cottonwood, Tom (Barbara) of Anderson, grandchildren Cheri Anstead and T.J. (Jocie) Mason, great grandchildren Christian Wyatt, Hope Beardon, Landon, Kylie Mason. Sisters Ruth Law of Gerber, Wanda Schwartzengraber of Anderson and Naomi Stewart of Redding, many Nieces and nephews and friends.

Services will be held at Anderson Cemetery on Friday October 23, 2009 at 2 p.m.

Fulton Doty

Fulton Doty died at his home on October 18, 2009 at age 88.

He was best known for his 34 years as an Anderson Union High School music and Continuation School teacher, Director of the Tehama County Band for 30 years, and Lay Minister of the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of Redding. He was a versatile musician and most recently had been playing saxophone, clarinet and keyboard at Redding and Anderson Senior Nutrition Center.

He leaves his wife Betty, son Steve, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Carol Lee Hart, preceded him in death.

He was born September 2, 1921 in San Bernardino, attended schools in Colton and later graduated from Chaffey Junior College.

In WWII he played clarinet, saxophone and baritone horn in the 746th Army Air Forces Band. He was first stationed in Chico, where he met his wife, and was later sent to the Philippines.

He completed his formal education at Chico State and University of the Pacific and came to Anderson High School in 1952.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Anderson Frontier Senior Center, 2081 Frontier Trail, Anderson. No flowers requested.

Ricci C. Shipman

Ricci C. Shipman, 64, of Cottonwood died Monday at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding. Arrangements are pending at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson (365-5466).
