Tuesday, Nov. 3, is Election Day for school and special districts in Shasta County.
County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Cathy Darling said polling places will open at 7 a.m. and close by 8 p.m.
Turnout is expected to be "relatively low," Darling said, with many of those eligible using permanent absentee or vote by mail ballots.
"I never project turnout percentages because I am not a prognosticator, but I don't anticipate a very heavy turnout," she said.
Since 2005, more than half of all voting county-wide is done through the vote-by-mail system, Darling said.
All vote-by-mail ballots must be received by election officials no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, to be considered. Post marks do not count.
