Anderson's tough play at home helped defeat Central Valley 22-18.
Anderson's strong defense helped the Cubs come from behind and put them in a possession to catch up to the Falcons on the second half.
After CV capitalized on a few mistakes by Anderson in the first half, the Cubs defense let them score only once in the second half, and their offense went to work, chipping away at the lead by the Falcons.
Anderson's quarterback Casey Meyers made a 1-yard touchdown on the first drive of the third quarter and his 2-point conversion put the Cubs within three points of the Falcons, 15-12.
Then early in the fourth quarter, Drew Diprima ran the ball into the end zone for a touchdown making the score 22-12. Diprima had 22 carries for 178 yards, which helped the Cubs because Joe Allegretto was out for the game with an ankle injury from the previous game against West Valley.
Central Valley scored on their next drive, but was unable to score again, due to the Cubs defense. Overall, Anderson played a physical football game and it paid off in the form of a victory over the Falcons.
The Cubs travel to Yreka to play the Miners.
