CHP catches motorcyclist after high speed chase on Olinda Rd.

While driving a suspected stolen motorcycle, Devin Lee Chandler, 32, led CHP Officer Kurt Heuer on a high speed chase on Olinda Road Monday, Oct. 26. Chandler, of French Gulch, continued towards Anderson at speeds greater than 110 mph while crossing the double yellow line around blind curves, reported CHP.

The chase began when Officer Heuer noticed the motorcycle Chander drove matched the description of a stolen bike from a Redding police report. Chandler accelerated once Heuer began pursuing the motorcycle to read its license plate, according to CHP report.

Chandler pulled over for Officer Heuer at South and West streets in Anderson, where CHP determined the motorcycle was the same vehicle reported stolen by RPD.

Chandler was booked into Shasta County Jail for auto theft, felony evading and possession of hypodermic needles. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was held in jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
