Lulafaye
Standing in the middle of an empty store front at 2915 East Center St. last week, Bonnie Burhart said she would open a home and garden decor store for the opening of the Anderson Street Fair on Sept. 12.
"I've done this before, and we opened in five days," Burhart said about a previous store she operated in Idaho.
Having moved to Shasta County only a year ago, Burhart said she would name the shop "Lulafaye," after her mother.
Burhart added that she missed operating her own business and said she still has inventory from her previous business venture.
Lulafaye hours of operation will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Glass Dreamz
Open since March, Glass Dreamz in Cottonwood sells glass pipes and other smoking accessories out of a small store front behind Roger's Frosty at 3317 Main St.
Dubbing the store a "Humboldt-style smoke shop," store co-owner Jacob Lord said his business was enjoying the loyalty of Cottonwood residents who don't have to travel to Redding for pipes.
The store is not affiliated with the planned medical marijuana dispensary business to open next door on Sept. 1, Lord said last week.
Hours of operation at the store are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
