Blood drive planned for Sept. 6 at Prime 11

Anyone who presents to donate blood at the Prime Cinemas blood drive in Anderson on Sunday, Sept. 6, from noon to 4 p.m. will receive a free movie pass and automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a $250 fuel gift card!

Blood donations help patients being treated for accidents, routine surgeries and diseases such as cancer, heart disease and hemophilia. Giving blood is easy, safe and takes less than one hour, but only about 10 percent of the estimated 38 percent of eligible Americans donate blood.

Prospective donors must be in generally good health, free from cold symptoms for at least 48 hours, be at least 17 years old - or 16 with a signed parental consent form - and weigh at least 110 pounds. There is no upper age limit for donating blood, said Dannielle Smith.

All donors should bring a photo ID.

The BloodSource blood mobile will be parked at the Shasta Factory Outlets near the Prime 11 theater.
