The campus is expanding at Anderson New Tech High School with the addition of a modular building to house the music lab and drama and P.E. classes.

"It was amazing to watch the building being brought in," said ANTHS Principal Pat Allison.

The building consisted of four structural pieces that were staged in the school's parking lot and then moved down the back alley on a flat bed. There were chalk marks on the ground outlining where the building was to go and once the first piece was in position, it was put on rollers and moved to the outside line. Each piece was hand rolled into position and then put together.

"We had to have custom ramps made because of the slope in the parking lot, but everything is coming together," said Allison.

The building was purchased specifically for the music labs and the drama and P.E. classes with half the funds to pay for it coming from a government grant, Curriculum B, and the other half from the school's funds.

"Students will be able to mix their own music for drama and video production, and they don't have to know a lot about music in order to use the music labs," said Allison.

Once everything is set up representatives from SoundTree will be training the teachers and about a dozen students on how to use the music labs, who will then train the rest.
