Friday night in Red Bluff, the Anderson Cubs were close to having a victory celebration of their own, leading the game from the onset with two touchdowns by Philip Allegretto and field goals by Manny Contarez. Leading at the half, the cubs were still working hard to earn their win against Red Bluff.

Against the odds, The Red Bluff Spartans put up a fight in the last eight minutes of the game, scoring three touchdowns and kicking field goals. Anderson began their fight to regain the lead, but penalties called against them and a lack of time left on the clock hampered their chances at a win against Red Bluff.

In the last seconds of the game, an Anderson Player was approximately six inches from a touchdown when the opposing team took him down. Many of the fans from Anderson made the trip to Red Bluff to support the team. The final score was 17-21.
