The West Valley Volleyball team has been on a roller coaster ride. Winning against some opponents while losing to others.
Head Coach Carla Davis felt the team played flat against Orland, and let the Orland crowd take them out of their rhythm in the third set.
When they played against Shasta, they had more intensity and were able to move the ball around. Ashley Vitellaro played tough in the middle and had the most kills against Shasta with six and few hitting errors over the weekend at the Pleasant Valley Tournament. Paige Adkins had the most digs against Shasta with 18.
"Because we played hard against Shasta I was expecting the same attitude against Foothill, however, we came out flat and were down early," said Davis.
Adkins and Megan Bowen played great defense against Foothill with 22 and 27 digs respectively.
"The tournament at PV was a bit of a roller coaster ride, we went 2-2. We beat Foothill and Paradise on Friday night and lost to Hamilton City and Sutter on Saturday. We had a problem with playing consistently, serving and defense in particular," said Davis. "Our defense was very bad on Saturday all day and that lead to our losses."
