The Enterprise Hornets played host to the West Valley Eagles last Friday night, who lost their first away game 48-28.

West Valley played a tough game, but were unable to over come the mistakes that plagued them through out the night, and the four fumbles killed the momentum of the team.

West Valley was able to recover two of the fumbles, however, two bounced into the arms of Anthony Williams of Enterprise who raced down the field and capitalized on both. Derek Serna had a good game, rushing for 157 yards on 27 carries and was a bright spot for West Valley.

"We play a tough schedule and I would've felt good going into this next game against Shasta with all the improvements that we've made, but Levi Cox suffered an ACL injury during the fourth quarter," said Coach Greg Grandell.

According to Grandell, Cox might be out for a few weeks or the entire season depending on the results of the MRI scan to be done sometime this week. Cox is not expected to play in this Friday's game and Grandell feels that this could have the domino effect on the team.

"Losing our quarterback is going to test our resolve and it'll change the team because we'll have to move players around. I guess its a blessing that it happened early in the season and we still have three more pre-league games to prepare whoever takes over, but Friday we'll have a raw quarterback," said Grandell about losing Cox. "We have had a lot of good fortune, maybe its our turn to have our meddle tested."

Grandell goes into the away game against Shasta High School seeking his seeming elusive 100th win.
