ON SET: Marigold Antiques and Collectibles in Anderson was the backdrop for a TV commercial that Country musician Merle Haggard filmed with wife Theresa.

Merle Haggard, the author of country music hits including "Mama Tried," "Hungry Eyes," and "Okie from Muskogee," stopped in Anderson Monday for an appearance in a commercial for Marigold Antique and Collectibles in the Gateway Center. The antique store is operated by Debbie Parret, who was previously married to Haggard from 1985 to 1992.

"A lot of people don't know I was married to him because if I told everybody that, they'd just want to talk about Merle Haggard," Parret said previously.

Haggard goes on tour Sept. 17 to Dodge City, Kan.
