Hwy. 273 closed due to collision, rollover

The northbound lane of Highway 273 at the intersection of Alexander Road was closed when a GMC truck equipped with a lift kit overturned in a two-vehicle collision at about 2 pm Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Alisha Murphy, 18, of Anderson was stopped on Alexander and looked in both directions to see if traffic was clear.

“She then pulled into the number two lane of Highway 273 when she saw something out of the corner of her eye,” said APD Sergeant Robert Curato.

Charles Dephrima of Anderson hit the car and then rolled his truck.

He was taken to Mercy hospital by ambulance, it is unknown how severe he was injured and Murphy was also being taken to Mercy by private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries.
