Anderson swimmers sweep Yreka and Central Valley

The Cub swimmers surprised themselves last Wednesday at the Shasta College pool when they defeated both Yreka and Central Valley in a tri-dual league meet. The Anderson girls out swam C.V. 100-24 and Yreka 92-46. The boys were equally as impressive, defeating Yreka 78-54 and CV 95-34.

Sophomore Alison Layfayette, really stood out for the Cubs by being a double winner against both schools. Layfayette won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 freestyle. Adding to the first place count were Terra Gibson (100 breast) and Makayla Taylor (100 back). In the boys competition Alex Nepper was first in the 50 free, and Josh Gibson placed first in the 100 free.

"It was very encouraging to our team to be able to come away with two wins," said Coach Don Williams. "I am very please with the enthusiasm, commitment, and improvement I've seen in this young team."

According to Coach Williams, Anderson will be hosting four teams on Wednesday and is really looking forward to seeing what his team can do.
