Air Show 2009 — Sept. 26-27, 11:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Air show headliners include: Blue Angels, Golden Knights, USCG Rescue Demo (Tentative), Eddie Andreini Yak 9, John Collver "War Dog" AT-6, B-25 Pacific Prowler, HellCat / Zero, Eddie Andreini Stearman, Julie Clark Chevron Mentor T-34, F-16, P-40 / F-16 Heritage Flight. Gates open at 8 a.m. Children under 5 are free. Children 6-11 are $5. All persons 12 and above are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the gate. National Public Lands Day Clean Up — Sept. 26, 9 a.m. Volunteers invited to help clean up and repair damaged areas along Clear Creek. Gloves and eye protection will be provided. River float portion of the clean-up requires your own kayak, canoe, or inflatable. Workday should conclude by about 2 p.m with free BBQ to follow. Meet at the HCCP parking lot (orange pipe gate) on Clear Creek Road, about seven miles west of highway 273, just west of the Clear Creek Bridge. For more information, 241-2026.

Safe Haven Horse Rescue Fall Playday — Oct. 4, 9 a.m., at Bobby Jones arena in Cottonwood. Benefits Safe Haven Horse Rescue, the play day is open to horse lovers and riders. Food and drink available. Koi (fish) Auction — Oct. 17, at 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at 19540 Broadhurst Rd., Cottonwood off Bowman Road. Shasta Koi & Water Garden Club members that have extra fish bring their fish to the auction location. Everyone is welcome to bid on Koi of all ages and colors. The auction has an Auctioneer knowledgeable with the various types of Koi and each bidder gets a plaque with a number on it just like in a real auction. Guns ‘n' Hoses Flag Football — Oct. 24, 10:30 a.m. at Big League Dreams in Redding. Attendees encouraged to wear red to support the fire fighter team or blue for the law enforcement team. Youth Activities

3rd Annual North State Skate Series — Sept. 26 at Red Bluff Skateboard Park, and Oct. 10 at Anderson Skateboard Park. Cost for the event is $15.00 per site or $30.00 for the series with pre-registration. Open to all skateboarders, safety gear required: helmets, knee and elbow pads.
