Injuries have really hurt the Eagles so far this season with a 36-7 loss to the Wolves to put West Valley 0-3 for the season.

With quarterback Levi Cox out, Ronny Hampton practiced as quarterback for three days before the game against Shasta High School.

A shinning moment for West Valley was when Tyler Low ran a kickoff return 90-yards for a touchdown. Derek Serna was a bright spot on offense with 18 carries for 97 yards and has shown himself to be a consistent player for West Valley.

The offense did well running the ball against the Wolves defense and were able to eat up the clock, but missed opportunities and mistakes cost the Eagles.

West Valley has been playing up these past three weeks and Grandell feels the attitude of the team is very important, especially now that Cox has been injured.

While West Valley has yet to play a league game, Grandell's 100th victory is still eluding him. West Valley's next two games will be against Orland and Gridley.
