Wal-Mart A woman was booked into Shasta County Jail Thursday for identity theft at Wal-Mart in Anderson when Kelly Danyel Holmes, 45, of Hercules, tried to pass a forged check. The APD was alerted when Wal-Mart security matched Holmes to the desription of a suspect from a forged check case at a store in Medford, Ore.
Holmes also gave false identification to APD officer Bryan Benson who arrived on scene after 3:44 p.m. A search of the suspect's purse linked her to identity theft, forgery and burglary charges in seven jurisdictions in California and Oregon, an APD press release stated.
Holmes' cousin, Brenda Hackett, was arrested at a Yreka Wal-Mart after the store received the same alert from the Medford store.
