Wine, music and prizes to highlight event for shelter

Tickets are on sale now for Haven Humane Society's second Bark & Wine fundraiser set for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel in Redding.

"This premier event is geared to help shelter animals while providing a fun-filled evening of quality entertainment," said Dr. Ray John, CEO at Haven Humane Society. "You may purchase tickets at Haven Humane Society or call 241-5262 for more information."

Other ticket outlets in Redding include The Dandelion on Market Street, Vintner's Cellar on California Street and Piano Works at Airport and Rancho roads.

The premier event will showcase 12 vintners, John said, including mostly local wineries and several from Southern Oregon vineyards.

"There will also be several fabulous prizes you won't want to miss out on, including a vacation in Mexico and a fishing trip at a secluded Northern California resort," Dr. John said adding that "Ray and Maggie will host a private dinner for eight at Chez John."

The Charles Valona Group will provide background music throughout the evening that also features several drawings for prize packages and the highlighted prize, an Alaskan Cruise for two aboard the Princess Cruise lines. Cruise tickets are $10 and are also available at Haven Humane Society and several area locations.

Please call 241-5262 for a list of those ticket outlets and other Bark & Wine information.
