Hwy. 273 briefly closes following vehicle rollover

The northbound lane of Highway 273 at the intersection of Alexander Road was closed for nearly an hour Sept. 15 when a Chevy truck equipped with a lift kit overturned in a two-vehicle collision at about 2 p.m.

The truck collided with a 4-door sedan driven by Alisha Murphy, 18, of Anderson.

"She ... pulled into the number two lane of Highway 273 (from Alexander Road) when she saw something out of the corner of her eye," said APD Sergeant Robert Curato.

Charles Dephrima of Anderson hit the car and then rolled his truck.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance, where he was treated and released. Murphy was also taken to Mercy Medical Center by private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries.

The road was re-opened around 2:43 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
