Eagles win Chico Tourney

West Valley's varsity volleyball team went down to Chico this past weekend for the Holly Barnett Classic and won the tournament.

"We went 7-0 with wins against - Yuba City, Liberty (from Brentwood), Hamilton, Chavez (Stockton), Dixon, Chico and then we beat Chavez again in the finals - 32-34, 25-12, 15-11.," said volleyball Coach Carla Davis. "Amy Westaby and Molly McWilliams served 98 percent. Megan Bowen had 22 aces and Taylor Ross served 29 points."

According to Davis, Paige Adkins had 42 kills and Jessica Wilcox had 18 blocks.

"Westaby and Bowen were both excellent on defense - both serve receive and digs," said Davis.
