Shasta Dragonwood Celtic Renaissance Faire — May 1-2, at Anderson River Park, May 1-2. Event celebrates the spirit of the spirit of the Celtic Nations with jousting, music, Highland games, a renaissance village, one-of-a-kind wares for sale, ethnic food and drink, whiskey tasting and a host of cultural exhibits and merchandise native to Scotland and the Celtic fringe. Those making canned food donations will get $2 off the entry fee. General admission is $13; seniors 65 and older and kids 7-12, $8; with kids under 7 admitted free. Spring picnic with the Back 40 String Band — April 18, 11 a.m. Join the local Back 40 String Band at the Preserve. Bring a brown bag lunch if you would like and enjoy the music along with the fresh air and natural beauty of the Preserve. Informal walks along the creek or around the Preserve with friends are optional. This event is meant to be a time for relaxing. Bring a lawn chair if possible; our seating is limited.
