Dog license program expanded in Redding

Since Haven Humane Society recently took over the duty of dog licensing for the City of Redding it has expanded the program to three different locations in Redding, said Animal Regulation Sgt. Catie Tainter, License Coordinator.

"We offered the local veterinarians an opportunity to sell City of Redding dog licenses," she said.

The following groups signed up: VCA Companion Animal Hospital, 2133 Eureka Way; Pet Care Naturally, 2450 Henderson Avenue behind Raley's; and Dana Park Veterinary Hospital, 1405 Bradford Way.

"This one-stop shopping concept will help make it much more convenient for a lot of pet owners. Dogs can have their examinations, get their vaccinations updated and get their licenses all at the same time," said Sgt. Tainter.

She said Haven will also continue selling licenses at the shelter, 7449 Eastside Road.

Dog licenses for altered dogs are $10 for one year, $18.50 for two years and $23 for three years. Licenses for unaltered dogs are $20 for one year, $37 for two years and $46 for three years.

Seniors 60 and older receive a 50 percent discount on dog licenses.
