Sheriff's deputies arrested Joshua Wayne Twiss, 22, of Redding, on Feb. 3 for the alleged theft of a remote control truck from the RC Hobby Shop, 7400 Highway 273 north of Anderson on Tuesday. Twiss allegedly entered the store and stole the $600 truck and ran to his vehicle, according to Sergeant Bowles press release on Feb. 2.
As Twiss attempted to drive away from the store, the vehicle struck employee Sheryl Finch, 49, who attempted to stop the suspect, according to Bowles. Finch refused medical attention.
Twiss confessed to the crime, according to Detective Eric Magrini in a press release, and was booked into Shasta County Jail Feb. 3 on $50,000 bail.
