In their final league dual the Anderson Cubs wrestling team crushed the Grizzlies of Lassen. The Cubs won twelve of the fourteen weight classes on the night.
Pins were recorded by Bud Johns (105), Alek Miller (121), Jerry Bjerklund (127), Jon Creech (173), Stephen Webb (217), and Europa Mataia (Hwt). Also winning their matches were Nick Ortiz (142), Chris Webb (147), and Giorgi Doldtze (191). Lassen gave up three forfeits to Anderson.
The Cubs are now 3-1 in league dual action. The championship tournament will determine which school brings home the League Title for 2010. On Saturday, Feb. 13 Anderson will host the NAL Championships, with first round action beginning at noon and championship varsity matches slated for about 3:00 p.m.
Corning 38,<B> West Valley 22</B>
Corning won at home in an upset over West Valley.
Jake Morales (147) won 3-1 against Calvin Meister. According to Morales, they were tied 1-1 and he took down Meister with about 20 seconds left. Austin Lobsinger (217) was upset by Thomas Marshall, 2-1, and Forest Fells (162) was iced by Corning's Billy Crawford 4-0.
West Valley's Braden Casdorph (173) won by a 15-1 decision over Roy Madrigal, Eagle teammate Cody Tompkins (287) pinned Izzy Medina for a win. Jeremy Coats (105) beat Nathan Fultz of Corning 11-7, and Spencer Mojarro (132) pinned Misael Morales of Corning.
