APD disrupts juveniles' rock- throwing, drinking party

While pursuing several juveniles reported to be throwing rocks at windows at the Blue Oak Apartments in Anderson before midnight on Jan. 29, Anderson Police Department officers discovered a 14-year-old Anderson boy lying in the field, APD Captain Robert Kirvin said.

Due to the boy's apparent intoxicated state, officers determined he could not have participated in the rock throwing and the boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center for potential alcohol poisoning. Later that same evening, APD officers caught a 16-year-old Anderson juvenile on Alamo Drive throwing more rocks at windows. Total cost of damage by the youth was estimated at $500. He was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and felony vandalism and booked into juvenile hall, Kirvin said.

Hospital staff later reported the 14-year-old boy was no longer a patient and could not provide additional information as to his condition.
