West Valley struggles against Lassen

The West Valley girls soccer game ended in a tie after a very difficult game played on both sides of the ball.

The Lady Eagles started the second half of the game with a two-point deficit against the Grizzles. Through hard work and determination they came back to tie, but neither side was able to put the game away for their team.

Taylor Lambert and Taylor Moebes each scored one goal for West Valley (7-1-1 NAL), while Jessie McPhetridge and Bailey Marchand each had one assist. Tymberlyn Braund, the Lady Eagle's goalie, had six saves.

Anderson 5,<B> CV 1</B>

Despite the rain coming down, the Lady Cubs were able to focus on the task at hand and win their game against the Falcons.

Yui Gabriele and Tiffany Bernal had two goals and one assist apiece, while Katie Marshall recorded one goal and Shelby Roady had one assist for the evening. Natasha Salinas, Anderson's goalie, had three saves. Anderson is 3-5 in the Northern Athletic League.

Boys Soccer

Lassen 5,<B> West Valley 1</B>

The West valley boys were unable to get anything going offensively. Defensively, they tried to hold off a fierce Grizzlie squad, but they were unsuccessful. In the end Harold Stacey scored the lone goal for the Eagles (6-2 NAL).

<B>Yreka 6, Anderson 1</B>

Anderson had a difficult time holding off the Miners, who scored twice in the first half and then four more times in the second. Anderson (1-7 NAL) would finally connect with the goal in the second half, but couldn't make a come back.
