Ruth Rannells Raibley
A celebration of life for Ruth Rannells Raibley of Anderson will be held Saturday, February 20th at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Bible Fellowship church in Anderson. Ruth has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She also joins her husband of 61 years, Michael William (Bill) Raibley, who predeceased her. She passed away Friday, Feb. 12th at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born to Amy and Henry Moody on June 26, 1922 in Astoria Oregon. Her family moved to Santa Barbara where she received the golden eaglet award as a girl scout and participated in one of the first water skiing exhibitions in the U.S. She married Bill Raibley during the war and continued her education, graduating from Santa Barbara College in 1944. Ruth published a book of love letters recounting their experiences through the war. They moved to Shasta County in 1949 where she taught elementary school in Burney for over 20 years. Ruth and Bill had six children.
Survivors include sons David (Mary), Richard (Beth), Bob (Donna) and Tim (Tina) Raibley and daughters Susan (Del) Walton and Jennifer (Lloyd) Richardson. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Ruth left a legacy of love will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
