While weather was a struggle for most of the week in high school sports, Friday night's basketball game against Lassen went on as planned.

The Lady Eagles took the court first in West Valley's large gym, playing a hard game against Lassen. West Valley led most of the game, easily holding off Lassen until the end.

The Lady Eagles soared to a 62-51 win against the Grizzles. Megan Bowen led West Valley (1-2 NAL, 5-13) in scoring with 17 points; Paige Adkins and Amy Westaby both scored 10 points for the Eagles.

The West Valley boys capped off the evening with a 54-42 victory against Lassen.

They controlled the game early on, setting the pace for the Grizzles, who struggled against the Eagles.

Leading the scoring for West Valley (2-1 NAL, 9-10) was Casey Duenas with 15 points, followed by Tyler Stevenson with 13 points, and Tanner Gray had seven points.
