Those interested in running for any office in the November 2, 2010 General Election must declare at the office of the Shasta County Clerk during the candidacy filing period. The filing period begins July 12 and ends Aug. 6. If incumbents do not file for reelection, then the deadline to file extends to Aug. 11 according to Cathy Darling, county clerk.
Two seats are up for election in the Anderson City Council. Those two seats, both four-year terms, currently belong to Butch Schaefer and Keith Webster, Darling said.
Also up for election are three seats on the board of the Red Bluff Joint Unified High School District and another three seats on the Tehema County Board of Education. Darling said 201 voters in Shasta County are included in those elections.
Shasta County schools, however, hold elections in odd years, she said.
