The food drive for the Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance will closed last week after raising 700 pounds of food and $502 at both Safeway Food and Drug and Wal-Mart Supercenter in Anderson. The amount received was down from last year, according to Barbara Thurman, client services manager.
The volunteer-run non-profit provides emergency assistance and a food bank to South County residents.
