Every Tuesday and Thursday the senior aerobics class meets at City Hall in the community room between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A group of about 12-15 women meet regularly with instructor Barbara Rich to do low impact aerobics for an hour followed by light strength training.

According to Pam Lewis anybody is welcome to take the class. Lewis said recently a high school student came in with her grandmother and on occasion there have been athletes or people recovering from an injury who have been in the class to rehabilitate themselves.

Another benefit of the class is the ability to go at your own pace. Rich demonstrates the move she wants everyone to try and members of the class can choose how fast or slow they do it or if they can do it at all with no pressure from those around them.

Rich said the group is like a family and they are always looking for new members. There is a suggested $2 donation, however, Rich said it doesn't matter if you have the money; the most important part is coming down and exercising.

Lewis said Rich has been an instructor for Anderson Parks and Recreation for over 15 years and that the mats, 3 and 4 pound weights, and resistance bands are provided.
