With the last turn of the ferris wheel, the 2010 Shasta District Fair closed Sunday drawing 84,134 people over five days. The number tops both the individual 2008 and 2009 totals.
Attendance at the Clay Walker concert on Friday drew a record 4,000 people.
Fair spokeswoman Chris Zwaga credited the cool temperatures for making the fair more enjoyable to fair goers.
The wine garden attendance also increased, with many vendors reporting an increase in sales, she said.
Fair personnel reported no fights or gang activity.
