DAN MABRY

After many years of living in the San Mateo area and working for Dean Witter and Morgan Stanley companies as a coordinator, helping other agents select the proper products for their customers, Dan Mabry came to the North State to visit his mother and has been here since. He has been a licensed in insurance and finance broker since 1982. Ten years ago, Mabry became a licensed stock broker. He began working for Farmers Insurance in Redding in September of 2009 and hoping soon to be able to open a Farmer's Insurance office in Anderson or Cottonwood to service the local community. The insurance industry is an ever changing. Mabry works with auto, home, life, small business and other types of insurance.

When Mabry is finally able to open a small office in Anderson or Cottonwood he would like to also add a small call center so that clients can be worked with individually on their claims, also eventually being able to work with customers all over the state of California without having to drive to far to meet with them. Today's technology would make this possible. When Mabry is working on taking insurance courses, he does it through high speed Internet and WebEx. He works approximately 60 hours a week, sometimes from working with clients, taking courses and introducing himself and Farmers Insurance to the public.

"I believe that personal contact with my customers is important and it is more helpful in meeting their insurance needs. It is also more beneficial for the customer to work with someone who knows that they know and trust," said Mabry.

In his spare time, Mabry enjoys working on Face Book, promoting tourism in Shasta County. He has set up several sites for Anderson, Cottonwood, Happy Valley, Lake California and Red Bluff. He also helps to promote it through Twitter and YELP.

"I think we need to post positive things about our community, businesses, services that are available here and announcements about events that are happening. We will be able to draw tourists into the small towns of Cottonwood and Anderson off of Interstate 5, which will also help to restore the economy in the area," said Mabry.

Mabry's dog Kaiser also has a facebook site that helps draw people to the area and has close to 4,000 friends world wide, learning about the area and asking questions. Kaiser attends community events with Mabry and lets people know if they are animal friendly venues.

Mabry moved to Lake California two years ago and supports the local communities in every way possible. Mabry enjoy the small town feel of Cottonwood because every one is friendly and knows who you are. He has been married to his wife Debi for the past ten years.

Mabry is a 1973 graduate of Sequoia High School in Redwood City. He earned his Associates in Arts Degree at Golden Gate University College in San Francisco, majoring in Finances and Economics.
