Mister Taco
Since the departure of Taco Barn at 5531 Deschutes Rd. southeast of Anderson, former manager Jose Oseguera and his wife Araceli decided to reopen the establishment as Mister Taco.
"We finally went on our own," Araceli Oseguera said.
Open as of Feb. 1, the Mexican restaurant features a large menu including a section of San Diego Specials as well as hamburgers. The new restaurant has also lowered many of its prices, according to the new owners.
"We added a lot of shrimp and fish plates," Araceli Oseguera said. "We're hoping people will come and try our food."
The restaurant also offers a number of breakfast burritos for under $3. Open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. every day, Mister Taco welcomes telephone orders at 378-1108.
Howdy Welcome Program
Howdy Welcome Program, a new business in the Anderson and Cottonwood area, welcomes new residents to the area with a welcome package containing business promotions from interested area businesses. Already operating similar operations in seven other areas including Redding, business owner Danna Mack-Barnes said she began the business 11 years ago in Paradise.
Besides providing an advertising option to businesses, packages also include walking and bicycling maps, health information, and a variety of flyers, Mack-Barnes said. For more information, call 591-3627.
Kragen name change
Some changes to the Kragen Auto Parts store in Anderson have already occurred, but its name won't change until late this year. O'Reilly Auto Parts originally bought the parent company to Kragen, CSK Auto Corporation, in July 2008, but the Kragen's name won't change over until the company builds a parts distribution center in Stockton, Calif., in late 2010, according to O'Reilly Investor Relations Manager Mark Merz.
The new ownership already lowered prices and improved the volume of in-store parts from 19,000 to 22,000 parts, Merz said.
