February has been a month of excitement in the New Tech halls. Among the many competitors from New Tech and other schools, Stephanie Hoogstad recently won $150 for a first place speech that she had written for the Anderson Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Speech Contest.

Her speech entitled "Service and Sacrifice by America's Veterans Benefit Today's Youth" was 3-5 minutes and addressed the topic of health care reform.

Stephanie and her fellow competitors continued to participate in the Lions Club Speech Competition in February.

Two students were recognized by Haven Humane Society for volunteer efforts.

The Annual Drama Play is approaching rapidly.

This year, the Anderson New Technology High Sschool Drama department will be performing Thornton Wilder's classic American play, "Our Town."

Performances are set for March 11-13 at the Anderson High School Performing Arts Building at 7 p.m.

Admission for any performance is $5.
