Drew DiPrima: After four seasons playing for Anderson High School, Drew DiPrima was named All League Tailback for the 2009 season and awarded the Harlow Magnussen Award award, in which the recipient is nominated and voted on by his teammates.

Drew DiPrima of Anderson began playing football seven years ago beginning in the Pop Warner program for the Anderson Wildcats. Three years later, Drew started playing for the Anderson Cubs as the team's tailback and outside linebacker. Drew enjoys being out on the field with friends, being able to hit hard during practice and at games.

"Our goal at the beginning of the season is to play as a unit. By the end of the season, we are a united team," said Drew.

Being able to play in the Anderson Centennial Football game is something that will always stand out in Drew's mind.

"What are the chances of being able to play starting running back in the school's 100th year anniversary on a new field, in a new stadium? I was really nervous," said Drew. "It was really cool being a part of the centennial. I was really happy to be a part of that. It was a once in a life time experience."

For the 2009 season, Drew was named All League Tailback. He was also given the Harlow Magnussen Award, which is the most prestigious award given to seniors at Anderson. The award is based on helping other players and being there for them at anytime, on and off the field. It is an award that is nominated and voted on by the entire team. Drew's parents are his biggest fans, on and off the field. His grandmother is one of his biggest fans and enjoys going to all his home and away games.

Through the years, Drew has also participated in wrestling and baseball. He plans to attend Shasta College for two years, looking at majoring in physical therapy or massage therapy. Drew would then like to transfer to a four-year university.

Drew enjoys many subjects in school; his favorites are economics and American government, along with culinary arts. Drew's favorite professional football player is Brian Dawkins of the Denver Broncos.

When not playing football or participating in other sports, Drew enjoys going snow boarding, hanging out with friends and having a good time. Drew is also a member of the Anderson Surf Club and has been a member since his freshman year. The club takes trips to Santa Cruz to go surfing.

Drew is the son of Vicki and Chuck DiPrima of Anderson.
