Challenge is in knowing whom to trust

Is it hopeless to trust? How do we know whom to trust?

Do you ever see those homeless people on the corner of the streets with bent and folded signs, pleaded for money?

I do. But I always wonder whether they really need food or do they just want to buy more liquor?

Being open-hearted and young, I automatically assume the best of people. The harsh truth is, not everyone in this life is trustworthy. I couldn't say I know the answer for that equation.

I can say it affects me deeply and offends me strongly. Just walking around my school, I see groups of endlessly diverse people.

How do I know which friends will be true, not back-stab? Honesty is found within fewer people as the world grows larger.

Sadly, there's no stopping the ways of a lying homeless person looking for booze.

Yet, there are ways to notice what kinds of people to trust.

Am I right?

Once again, I'm 16, and completely confused as to why someone would partake in actions so full of self-pity.

I do notice how unexposed I am to the world. Or in other words, there are a lot of things that I have yet to see and absorb.

As I grow older, it seems as if each day is getting harder and harder. That is one reality that is tremendously difficult to accept in this life.

I will, I hope one day, come to find that everything will fall into place and I can understand more of this place.

Wisdom comes in time. For that, I will wait.
