GETTING CLOSER: Construction in the front room of Clarizio's Italian deli is nearly complete.

Those looking forward to the opening of the Italian restaurant on East Street in Anderson will have to wait at least a month, owner Fred Clarizio said last week as he looked over his business's freshly-striped parking lot.

"It looks close," he said.

With construction wrapping up, Clarizio said he may wait until after the new year to open rather than subject the new business to the heavy traffic expected leading up to Christmas.

A Happy Valley resident, Clarizio said the restaurant will provide Anderson with an Italian deli-style restaurant with imported cheeses, a variety of meats and numerous deli salads, pickles and olives.

Clarizio's Antipasti and Deli, though still under construction, is located at 2766 East St. in Anderson.
