The Cub Connection summer program gifted Anderson Union High School with two murals — one on the exterior wall on the counseling center and another high up on the wall in the big gym.
According to Linda Lentz, the advisor in charge of Cub Connection, the summer program gave back to the school by utilizing the talents of local painter Raette Meredith.
The mural outside the counseling center wall is of a mama bear with her two cubs walking along a forest stream. The other in the big gym is pictured below.
The murals came about after three outdoor tables and 12 chairs were given to Cub Connections for Earth Day, said Lentz. After Cub Connections participants planted a garden outside the Administration office and put the table and chairs in place, they decided a mural would look nice.
The artist painted both murals in four weeks, Lentz said.
