Both the victim and suspect of a reported stabbing in the Rhonda Road area south of Anderson eluded sheriff's deputies early Monday morning, Sept. 20. Only a blood trail was found of the stabbing victim at 4604 Rhonda Rd. at 4 a.m.
"The victim fled the area," Shasta County Sheriff's Office Deputy John Greene said later that day in a telephone interview.
An extensive search of the area Monday included a helicopter from California Highway Patrol, he said.
The man was later identified as Alphonso Flores, 33, of Anderson, according the Record Searchlight.
Without a suspect for the stabbing, Greene said on Monday the incident was still under investigation.
