For senior Lexi Kincaid, making the volleyball playoffs was a big goal for her and her West Valley teammates. The Eagles made the playoffs, far exceeding Kincaid’s hopes for the season.
Kincaid said that once the season ends she will miss all of the team bonding trips and exercises.
One of the things Kincaid most enjoys about being on the volleyball team is how well everyone gets along and the intensity they, as a team, bring to the court.
Coach Carla Davis has been a really good coach said Kincaid.
“I’ve been in varsity the last two years and Coach Davis tells you how to fix things. She doesn’t sit there and yell at you, she explains how to fix it,” explained Kincaid.
Teamwork, perseverance and how to get along with others in a positive way are things volleyball has taught Kincaid.
Kincaid said she is planning on attending Shasta College for two years and would like to play volleyball for the Knights, but isn’t sure if she will. Then she will transfer to a four-year.
Kincaid said she wants to major in speech pathology because she likes being able to help people one on one.
