Cascade kicks off super search

Cascade Union Elementary School District will begin advertising for a new superintendent in January, said Jeff Carr, a board trustee.

According to Carr, at the Dec. 8 board meeting the board approved the measure allowing Interim-superintendent Harley North to “proceed with advertising the vacancy for a new district superintendent.”

“Advertising will take place in January and early February with the goal of interviewing and hiring to be completed by early to mid-March,” said Carr in an email.

He added, “It is the board’s hope that hiring for this important position early will allow the new superintendent the opportunity to be apprised of, and consulted in important district decisions, such as possible reconfiguration of the school sites, contract negotiations, and the development of the 2012-2013 district budget.”

According to Carr, the chosen candidate would begin working as the Cascade superintendent July 1, so that the person can finish their obligations with their current district.
