Of all the things high school has to offer, Allison Lafayette will miss pep band the most when she graduates in the spring.

“The band goes to games and screams and cheers. It’s a lot of fun and I’ll miss it,” said Lafayette.

The 17-year-old is a swimmer for the Anderson Cubs, who said she like swimming because its an individual sport.

“You don’t have to rely on others. Even though it is more individual, we are still like a little family,” Lafayette said.

Her coach, Don Williams, supports her and pushes her to do better, so that she reaches her goals.

Lafayette credits swimming with teaching her that she can do anything she wants, it just takes a little practice.

After high school, Lafayette is planning on either going to Shasta College or joining the Air Force because she wants to be a pilot.

She added if she attends Shasta, she is planning on swimming and diving for the Knights.
