The birth of Jesus, the Christ, was prophesied nearly 700 years before it happened by the prophet Isaiah, who ministered in the kingdom of Judah from about 740 years B.C. (Before Christ) to 680 years B.C.
In the Bible’s Old Testament, from Isaiah, Chapter 9, verses 6-7, it is written:
“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
From that time and forever.
The seal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.”
In an interesting parallel, our Page 1 story of Clarity Entertainment, a Christian movie and television studio that is setting up operations at the Stillwater Business Park between Anderson and Redding, was foretold nearly seven years ago by a prophetess at Bethel Church in Redding.
Not once, but twice, the woman told of a media empire that would teach the Gospel, the good news of Christ’s birth, His life of example and teachings of love, of His horrible death on the cross at the hands of Roman soldiers who labeled him “King of the Jews.”
More importantly, however, the woman prophesied that the media empire would proclaim the resurrection of Christ from the tomb, His ascendancy to heaven, and the transcendent grace offered to all who believe in Him as God’s sacrificial gift for the purpose of our salvation.
Just as there were those in Isaiah’s time who refused to believe in the prophet’s teachings, there are likely to be those who will scoff at the woman’s prophecy.
Will Chris Foxworthy and Clarity Entertainment’s Christian movie and television studio live up to his vision as laid out by Valley Post reporter Maghan Hunt?
Only time will tell.
And you can believe that we will be watching closely.
But after spending the better part of three days with Foxworthy while reviewing major portions of his plans, I have every confidence that he and his investors will bring about a renaissance, of sorts, in northern California as they attempt to reach out with hope and love to touch the hearts and minds of millions with their fresh visions of the Gospel.
Will Shasta County eventually house “Jesus Would,” the Christian equivalent to Hollywood?
As Isaiah likely told his critics, just watch and see.
