My Teen Eyes: Reading emotions through another person's eyes

Sometimes it seems that I can see devastation within others just by looking into their eyes.

From those portals, my vision shoots a photograph of their heart, almost as if I feel an instant connection with a complete stranger in just one glance.

I watch as I see their eyes wander towards the ground in almost complete despair. It is as if they are lost in anxious thoughts as to what I could possibly be seeing. Often, they give me body language that reveals inner pain.

Although I am not positive whether these people can detect what I am thinking, my brain constantly ponders this possibility.

Have you ever felt someone’s basic human instinct just by taking one look?

Well, think of it this way, have you ever seen to the heart of another through the eyes alone?

I feel that I can see hurt in my friends when they try and focus so hard upon not showing these emotions. I find that this is especially true when the emotions are most noticeable. Obviously, we cannot read precise or detailed emotions with only our eyes, but that is our first clue to possibly change any mood around.

I take that little moment to ask my friends whether they are okay, and then I make certain of their answer.

Usually, my first sense is correct and there truly is a problem or difficulty.

I know how greatly I appreciate it when others show that they care when I am feeling down, so I would love to help others by doing the same for them.

It all starts with that one look, that instant glance of instinct.
