The Health Mart Healthy Living Tour is on the road to celebrate and recognize community pharmacists for the important role they play as trusted healthcare providers in their communities—helping to educate and counsel people managing diabetes.
As part of this celebration, the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour is offering free health screenings that include blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose and Hemoglobin A1c tests.
On Wednesday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be free health screenings at Ferry’s Health Mart Pharmacy, 2940 East Street, in Anderson.
The health screening interviews will be with Pharmacist Daniel Ferry and Zack Nixon of Health Mart Healthy Living.
Co-sponsored by Bayer Diabetes Care and Novo Nordisk, the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour is aiming to raise awareness of the growing diabetes epidemic—the disease affects approximately 25.8 million Americans.
The organization is identifying people at risk and encouraging people with diabetes to manage their condition with the help of their Health Mart pharmacist—always there to provide counsel on ways to reduce medication spending and better understand drug regimens/complications.
Health Mart recognizes that community pharmacists are essential to the towns and cities they live and work in. The Health Mart Healthy Living Tour is just another way to say, “Thanks for all the hard work.”
